Two-Story Addition:
Early 1900s Shingle House

A two-story wing with a side porch was added to a shingle house with Craftsman influence. The porch accommodates a small table with chairs and shelters the side entry door off of the driveway. The new eat-in space is sunny and spacious with storage, pantry, and space for a desk. The back stairs were opened, and lead to an upstairs laundry and master bedroom and bath. The existing house with its gable pediments, sweeping porch roof, shingled bays, and Craftsman windows informed the design of the new addition. The rear of the house has been transformed from a flat plane with a 1970s modern bay window to a lively composition in keeping with the original house.
