New House:
Dutch Craftsman Colonial Revival Home

With acres of protected woodland for a backyard, this new house joins century-old homes that line the hilly streets. The clients, who love old houses, offered a strong vision that was carried through from the initial design concept to finish details crafted by artists. A gracious porch wraps three sides of the home, and fanciful windows, inspired by those of the Classical Revival era, overlook the town and frame woodland views. The grand stair hall is flooded with light, and the rooms are nicely proportioned with high ceilings and framed views into adjacent spaces. Fireplaces, window seats, and built-ins enrich the interior, and a child's bedroom offers a loft retreat built over the back stair.
